Turn any two devices into a private audio baby monitor. Audio streams peer-to-peer over your home Wi-Fi — it never touches a cloud server.
How It Works
Open Cooing on the device you'll leave in the nursery. Screen dims automatically — dark and invisible.
Both devices sign into the same account. They find each other automatically — no pairing codes, no QR scans.
Audio streams live with <300ms latency. Get push alerts when your baby stirs, even when your phone is locked.
Cooing uses WebRTC to stream audio directly between your two devices — peer-to-peer, over your home Wi-Fi. No recordings. No relay servers. No strangers. You can disconnect your router from the internet mid-session and monitoring continues.
Features
Live audio waveform with three colour-coded zones — quiet, stirring, and crying — with adjustable sensitivity sliders.
Get notified when your baby is crying, when the device battery is critical, or when the monitor goes offline.
Cooing detects if the baby device goes silent — even if the battery dies without warning — and shows you the last-seen time.
See both devices' signal strength and battery level at a glance. Early low-battery warnings so monitoring never drops unexpectedly.
Router hiccup? Brief dropout? Cooing silently recovers — no intervention needed. Session stays alive for up to 5 minutes.
The baby-side screen dims to near-black the moment monitoring starts. No glowing screen to wake a sleeping baby.
I looked at every baby monitor on the market — expensive hardware, grainy video, and always-on cloud connections I couldn't verify. So I built one I could trust. Cooing is dedicated to the cutest baby in the world. You know who you are. 🍼
